India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus comprehensively outplayed the Czech pairing of Frantisek Cermak and Leos Friedl in straight sets on Sunday to book a place in the quarter-finals of the men's doubles event at the French Open.
The second-seeded Indo-Belorussian pair won 6-3, 6-2.
In the quarter-finals, they will meet fifth seeds, India's Leander Paes and David Rikl of the Czech Republic, who got the better of the ninth seeds, Australia's Joshua Eagle and American Jared Palmer 6-2, 6-0.
Earlier, in the second round, Paes and Rikl staged a remarkable recovery to beat the US pair of Rick Leach and Brian MacPhie 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Paes was however unfortunate to make an exit in the mixed doubles. He and tennis legend Martina Navratilova were beaten by Corina Morariu of the United States and Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden 6-7 (5), 2-6 in the second round.
