Michael Phelps, who won six Olympic gold medals last month, will try to repeat his Athens performance at the seventh FINA world swimming championships in Indianapolis.
The 19-year-old American will take part in every session of the five-day competition from October 7-11 providing he qualifies for the finals of the six events he has entered, organisers said in a news release on Tuesday.
Phelps, who also won two bronzes in Athens, is scheduled to swim in the 200 metres freestyle, the 200 butterfly, the 100, 200 and 400 individual medleys and the 4 x 200 relay in the 25-metre pool being constructed at Conseco Fieldhouse.
