Manchester United defender Gary Neville has withdrawn from the England squad to travel to the United States for a two-match tour.

Neville missed Saturday's FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal with a groin injury and will be replaced by uncapped Charlton Athletic player Luke Young.

England play the United States in Chicago next Saturday, followed by a clash with Colombia the following Tuesday at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

Captain David Beckham, his Real Madrid team mate Michael Owen and Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves will all miss the first game against the U.S. because of club duty but will join up with the squad for the Colombia match.

United's Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney were left out of the squad at the request of club manager Alex Ferguson. Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and John Terry, both having toe operations, also miss the trip.

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard is another absentee as he will be leading his side in the Champions League final against AC Milan in Istanbul on Wednesday.
