A splendid hat-trick by Nigerian striker Dudu Omaghbemi enabled Sporting Club de Goa trounce Kolkata's Mohammedan Sporting 3-0 a second leg match of the ONGC Cup 10th National Football League at the Duler ground in Mapusa, Goa, on Saturday.

Dudu, who scored in the 24th, 29th and 64th minutes, was adjudged man-of-the-match.

With this victory, Sporting Clube jumped up to the third spot in the league table, with 19 points from 11 outings, below table toppers East Bengal (24 points) and Mumbai's Mahindra United (20 points).

Mohammedan Sporting have 14 points from 12 outings.

The Goa team started with three good moves within a span of ten minutes, but failed to unsettle the Mohammedan Sporting defence.

Mohd Sporting, too, came up with a couple of good moves, in the 12th and 14th minutes, and once striker Onkonji Patrick's power-packed shot was well-saved by Sporting Clube's goalkeeper.

Sporting Clube, who had upper hand from the start, took time to settle down and surged ahead in the 24th minute of the first half through their ace striker Omaghbhemi, who, after collecting a pass from Nicholas Rodrigues, banged the ball into the goal.

Dudu increased the lead in the 29th minute. After receiving a pass from Nicholau Borgues, he unleashed a full-blooded shot that kissed rival defender David's foot and deflected into the goal 2-0.

Inspired by a two-goal lead at the breather, the home team continued their attacks. Dudu completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute following a fine pass from the left flank, again by Borgues. His stiff shot hit the right post and ricocheted towards him, but on the second attempt he made no mistake to make it 3-0.

The Kolkata outfit made some desperate attempts to reduce the margin towards the close of the play, but the home team's defence stood its ground.
