United States President George W Bush said on Monday that capturing Osama bin Laden was proving to be difficult, although the "net is getting tighter" around the Saudi renegade.
"The noose is beginning to narrow. The net is getting tighter," the president said.
"But this is a difficult assignment ... It may take a month, it may take a year," he said.
Bush praised the US-led military effort in Afghanistan against the Taleban. "Things happened very quickly in Afghanistan, which show that our strategy was well thought-out. But the objective is yet to be achieved," he said.
"They are running and trying to hide and we are in pursuit. We will stay the course until we bring them to justice," Bush said.
