The United States on Monday said that it was determined to address itself to the issue of global terrorism everywhere, including India.
Emerging out of a 40-minute meeting with US President George W Bush and a 75-minute meeting with National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh said that both had categorically assured him of Washington's resolve to address itself to the issue of global terrorism, which also includes India.
Bush said while his immediate focus was on Saudi mastermind Osama bin Laden and the Taleban, his approach to terrorism was not 'uni-dimensional' and the US would not rest until all these manifestations of terrorism were globally dealt with.
Singh said, "The Taleban must go and after the Taleban a process should be put in motion to include all elements of Afghanistan society in the government. However, the Taleban will have no place in it because they have handed over Afghanistan to Osama bin Laden, who is a non-Afghan."
Singh is due to meet Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell.
