Taleban's ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Salam Zaeef said on Thursday that the militia would not hand over Osama bin Laden to the United States even if proof of the Saudi renegade's involvement in the attacks on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon were presented.
"The movement will not hand over bin Laden to the US even if it received proof of his involvement in the September 11 attacks," Arab daily Al Khaleej quoted him as saying.
"If we receive such proof, bin Laden will be tried under Islamic law. If he is found guilty, we will examine what to do," Zaeef said in Islamabad.
He said the crisis between Washington and Kabul could only be solved through talks.
"Dialogue is the means to solve problems," he said.
