Pakistani authorities have seized more than 2,700 grenades from a Pashtun tribesman who was allegedly planning terrorist attacks in the country to protest against the United States-led strikes against Afghanistan, officials said on Thursday.
The grenades were seized at Landikotal, a remote town in North West Frontier Province from one Rashid.
Rashid had dumped around 2,750 hand grenades in a warehouse in Landikotal, the officials said, adding the arsenal would have been used for terrorist attacks in major cities.
Authorities were investigating as to how Rashid came to obtain such a large number of grenades.
