Pakistan on Saturday said it would look into the matter, which led the United States to freeze the accounts of militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and some other organisations, before issuing an advisory to banks in the country in this regard.
"We have received some preliminary information from our embassy in US relating to this matter. In US, JeM and couple of other organisations have been placed on a list and their accounts have been frozen for reasons of suspected linkages with Al Qaeda network of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden," Foreign Office spokesman Riaz Mohammad Khan said.
"We are naturally further going to look into this matter to see whether an advisory similar to the one issued by State Bank of Pakistan in case of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and Al-Rashid Trust is required," he said.
Pakistan's central Bank had frozen the groups' assets when they appeared on Washington's terror watch list of September 24.
