Day eighteen developments

In a concerted action aimed at evolving a post-Taleban set up in Afghanistan, opposition forces held a meeting in Peshawar, Pakistan, and agreed to back former Afghan king Zahir Shah to head the interim government (Full Story).

An embarrassed US, after close to three weeks of continuous attacks, admitted that it's still clueless in its search for Osama bin Laden (Full Story), even as US jets kept up their attacks on Taleban frontline positions in Kabul, and other targets in Kandahar and Herat. (Full Story).

Meanwhile, Federal Bureau of Investigation chief Robert Muellar said he feared more terror attacks on the US (Full Story), while White House heaved a sigh of relief as the tests carried out on postal workers suspected to have been infected by anthrax came back negative (Full Story). The tests followed the discovery of an anthrax infected mail cutter in a White House postal facility.

In Pakistan, a US firm received an anthrax laced letter, making it the first case of bio-terrorism on any US facility outside the American soil (Full Story).

Elsewhere, the United Nations again nailed the US lie by confirming that US raids on Herat had targeted a mosque and a village, as the Taleban had claimed earlier (Full Story).
