United States President George W Bush on Thursday put Pakistan on notice that he would give it a chance to live up to its commitment to fight terrorism.
Addressing a press conference at the White House, Bush said he appreciated the statement of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf pledging his "unstinted cooperation" to fight terrorism.
"I appreciate the support extended by the Pakistan government to track down those responsible. We will give the Pakistan government a chance to prove themselves."
Bush evaded a direct reply on Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden, widely suspected to be behind Tuesday's attacks. "I will not share intelligence reports or what I plan to do," he said.
"We have just seen the first war of the 21st century," he said, and vowed to "lead the world to victory" over terrorism.
