Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on Friday expressed concern to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee over incidents of Sikhs being harassed in the United States following the terrorist attacks on Tuesday.
Mistaking them to be Arabs or Afghan nationals, the US authorities had questioned a few Sikhs on Thursday.
Speaking to the prime minister on telephone, the chief minister suggested that the matter be taken up urgently with the US authorities to ensure that the Sikhs were not subjected to undue harassment.
