Some parts of the vacant US embassy complex in Kabul was torched by angry demonstrators on Wednesday.
Protesting possible US military action against Afghanistan, demonstrators set fire to some abandoned cars to create a huge blaze which spread to the outbuildings, but not the main embassy building.
Taleban firefighters, when reports last came in, were attempting to bring the blaze under control.
