Pakistan-based Kashmiri separatist groups have vowed to wage a jehad against the U.S. if Afghanistan is attacked, Online news agency reported.
In a meeting here, eight Kashmiri groups said the US will face defeat at the hands of the Taliban and the Muslims.
The eight -- Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, Tehreekul Mujahideen, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Al Badr Mujahideen, Hizb-e-Islami, Harkatul Jihad Islami and Jamatul Mujahideen -- also said that no US-manufactured items would be used by them in future, be it military or domestic.
They also said that "jehad" would continue in Kashmir until "freedom" is "won in the Valley."
"Let there be no confusion. We will fight on both fronts," the announcement said, adding the mujahideen would also be sent to Afghanistan to face the US forces.
US strikes in Afghanistan seem imminent with the ruling Taleban refusing to hand over Saudi exile Osama bin Laden, prime suspect in the Washington and New York terror attacks two weeks ago.
The mujahideen groups asked Pakistan "not to assist the US in its fight against Islam."
Interestingly, one of the groups -- Harkat-ul-Mujahideen -- finds a place in the list of 26 terrorist organisations that formed the subject of US President George Bush's executive order of Tuesday, freezing their funds.
Pakistan has in response to that order instructed its banks to freeze funds of any and all organisations on the list. India for its part has been asking the US to add more names, including that of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, to that list.
