Pakistan again fails to persuade Taleban to hand over Osama

The Taleban on Friday refused to hand over Osama bin Laden, after a Pakistani delegation made the request, according to a foreign news channel.

The channel said the Taleban also refused to free eight international aid workers, accused of trying to spread Christianity in Afghanistan.

This was the second Pakistani delegation to visit Afghanistan, in an attempt to persuade Taleban to hand over Osama bin Laden to US.

Pakistan is the only nation that still maintains diplomatic ties with the Taleban.

Meanwhile, Taleban Ambassador to Pakistan Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef said the two sides did not discuss the extradition of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden.

"The two sides took important decisions, but that are not to be made public. The two sides discussed ways how to resolve the current crisis and to ensure stability of Pakistan and Afghanistan," the ambassador told Pakistan news agency NNI.
