![]() Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye a disaster!Komal Nahta Some random thoughts before I survey the box office: Aditya Chopra has been a film buff since he was a kid. A classmate of his narrated an incident which showed just how passionate Adi is about films. The final examinations were on and the two had a tough paper the following day. The friend's father was going for a preview of an unreleased Hindi film. Much as he wanted to accompany his father for the preview, the friend begged off to prepare for the next day's paper. Imagine the father's bewilderment when he saw Adi sitting in the preview theatre for the film which his son had so obediently decided to skip! Reports have it that after father Yash Chopra's Lamhe bombed, Adi undertook a serious study and came up with reasons why the love story crashed despite rave reviews. Another young director Dharmesh Darshan gets so involved with his film that he refers to his heroine not by her name, but by the character she portrays in the movie. Juhi Chawla was never Juhi on the sets of Dharmesh's first film, Lootere. She was always Anjali. Likewise Karisma Kapoor. All through the making of Raja Hindustani, DD never referred to KK as Karisma on the sets. She was always Aarti. Aamir Khan never hears a script if he doesn't have dates to spare. His logic being: If I don't have the dates, what's the point in hearing the story? Aamir is such a perfectionist that it is not rare to see him dubbing an emotional scene only after putting glycerine in his eyes for the 'tear effect'. Using glycerine while shooting is common, but using it for dubbing dialogues is not quite so common! Talking about glycerine and tears brings an interesting incident to mind. It dates back to when Madhuri Dixit had not achieved superstardom. She had to do an emotional scene for Tezaab. Madhuri just couldn't get it right until costar Anil Kapoor told her to imagine that there was a death in her family. "Cry the way you would cry then," he told Madhuri. Not only did she cry beautifully, she also made the audience cry. A look at the week gone by: **Ratings based on box office collections and cost of the film**
