Court stay for Bhagat Singh films?
Martyr's family up in arms

Rajinder Singh, the youngest brother of martyr Bhagat Singh, and his sons and daughters on Friday moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking a stay on the screening of all films based on the life and history of the martyr.

The petitioners alleged that the films contained distorted versions of the life history of Bhagat Singh and, accordingly, the screening of all the new films based on the life and history of the martyr be stayed.

A division bench of the court comprising Justice J L Gupta and Justice N K Sud issued notices to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and to filmmakers Iqbal Singh Dhillon, Dharmendra, Rajkumar Santoshi and Ramanand Sagar in this regard.
