'Inquilab Zindabad!' (Long live revolution). A cry that became immortal in the pages of history.

An intense, passionate voice that stood apart was that of young patriot Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

India is still under British rule. Bhagat Singh (Bobby Deol) of Punjab nursed strong, patriotic feelings for his motherland. In his teens, Bhagat Singh witnessed the brutal massacre of hundreds of innocent people at the Jalianwala Bagh. The seeds of revolution were sown then.

Bhagat Singh then met great revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad (Sunny Deol), Lala Lajpat Rai (Raja Bundela), Sukhdev (Rahul Dev), Rajguru and helped in spreading an anti-British wave and awareness among his fellow countrymen.

When the British government appoints the Simon Commission, Lala Lajpat Rai launches an aggressive protest. In doing so he is seriously injured. An outraged Bhagat Singh seeks revenge and shoots the wrong officer in haste. Singh goes into hiding as the Brits decide to pass an act of ordinance that allows them to arrest and shoot at sight. Headstrong Singh volunteers, along with Batukeshwar Dutt, throw hand grenades at the Central Assembly corridor, before the ordinance is passed.

What made their accomplishment special was they refused to run from the spot of action. Instead they got arrested and Bhagat Singh gave a provoking speech in the court of law, bringing to notice the atrocities of the foreign government to everyone.

On 23 March 1931, Bhagat Singh was hanged to death. He became Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
