Aladdin Ullah, one of the few or only Bangladeshi comics in America, specialises in trotting out ethnic material during his stage performances. This has not made him popular with regular-Joe comedy clubs which prefer bland, non-controversial, material and not chilly pepper sharp Asian humor.

Paromita Shah's clients are a motley bunch -- battered Indian wives, Brazilian homosexuals, unfortunate Haitian deportees. Not for her the power-lunching on Beluga with Boston Brahmins or the cruising from appointments in a speedy and so-cute BMW Roadster. As an immigration lawyer cases are tough to win and heart-breaking to lose.

Fund drive raises hate mail
A San Jose concert,held in a church centre, where 2,000 gathered, to raise $2,011,754 for Gujarat earthquake relief has been the subject of opprobrium. The reason: former president, Bill Clinton was in attendance. A certain section of the congregation was unhappy that a 'sinner' and pro-abortionist was allowed entry... for whatever the cause.
